My Perfect Day, Part I

Ponder with me for a moment — my perfect day.

I imagine it’s about 75 degrees and sunny,
I don’t feel too warm because of the light breezes,
it’s quiet except the occasional squeaks of nature,
and the sun is everywhere but the shade I stand in.

A steady creek beneath my feet,
the water cool to the touch,
actually slightly cooler than I’m comfortable,
but I like that about it.

The trees are green, are red, are fluttering in this breeze.
In my hand, a rod that I can barely feel,
but reeling in a lure, I can feel every bit of the water.

I’m not sure if I will land a trout today,
being out there is all I need.
